I am David McKinnis, the founder, lead architect and chief bottle washer of David McKinnis Consulting. I have been working with and programming computers since I was introduced to a Hewlett-Packard programmable calculator in junior high school. Since then I have programmed many different computers in a variety of languages (some of which are even still useful). I attended college at Yale University and then went to work for what was then a small-software company in Redmond, WA. - Microsoft.

In my thirteen years at Microsoft I had the opportunity to work on a variety of software projects in the Office Development Group. Some were small projects with a couple of people, others were large projects with over one hundred developers. I learned what it takes to ship award-winning software and solve real customer problems.

Since working at Microsoft I have worked on many projects big and small in a variety of roles. Currently my focus is on reviewing software projects and helping with development and project management of software projects.
